Besides the technical aspects, the demolition of buildings and the decontamination of building pollutants are of major financial relevance at the initial stage of revitalisation projects and mean a debiting factor in the overall calculation. Because of this, exact bid invitations and accurate cost- and accouting control is of major importance. Bid invitations of demolition and decontamination projects should be structured clearly and should contain detailed descriptions in all positions. The base for that are exact quantity surveys and a detailed identification of contaminated building materials. State of the art in bid invitations are GAEB-based detailed estimates (GAEB=common electronic interchange of the german construction sector). A professionally designed detailed estimate not only helps the bidder but supports the project owner in all calculative aspects of the project.
